Chuck Todd has never lived in Wisconsin, or even the Midwest. NBC’s Chief White House Correspondent was raised in Miami and is a zealous Miami Hurricanes fan. So why is he our Big Cheese this week? Well, he’s been a Packer fan since birth, cheered on the franchise while they struggled through the 1980s and publicly predicted the Packers would win the Super Bowl before last season. Welcome to Packer Nation, Mr. Todd.
So how did Todd become a fan of the green and gold? According to a 2008 interview with the Sports Business Journal, he was following his father’s lead. “My dad was a Dodger fan and a Packer fan. He grew up in Iowa, hated Chicago, so you had to love the Packers.”
Todd is a frequent Tweeter (@chucktodd), and when he’s not talking red and blue, he’s frequently talking green and gold. This summer, Todd asked Aaron Rodgers for a favor during his trip to the White House.
We’re glad to have a true fan like Chuck Todd rooting on the Pack. Catch him as NBC News' on-air political analyst for "NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams," "Today," "Meet the Press" and msnbc.
